OUR STORY

As we stand here looking at the immense Pacific Ocean, its’ gentle, infinite power is mesmerizing. Each of our senses are remarkably touched. The views and smells and sounds are so breathtaking that it takes you to a different place in your soul.

Max Saul, the architect and owner of Casa dos Palmas and his builder partner John Paletta have experienced Puerto Vallarta and the Pacific Ocean paradise of Mexico for 4 decades.

A prominent Architect of schools, commercial buildings, custom homes, senior housing and more, Max Saul has been around the world many times. In 1974, on a business trip to Mexico City, Max was offered an opportunity to go to a quiet oasis, (at that time) ~ Puerto Vallarta. He instantly fell in love.

Back then, there were very few resorts, restaurants, hotels or tourists. In fact, it was very common to see the locals using their family mule to assist them in their daily work and lives.  But soon, movie makers and other leaders in the travel industry around the world found this perfect spot that offers tons of ‘life variety’.

In 1975, Max and his wife Jane bought a delightful terrace condo with great ocean views in downtown Puerto Vallarta. And several years later he met a great friend and his builder partner on Casa dos Palmas, John Paletta. John and several other influential people that had separate units in this charming location would forever change the direction of Max’s life. After many years of vacationing in PV, within their ever changing and growing families, life was full of amazing experiences.  In 2005, Max was intrigued by an offer from his close friend John to buy property and BUILD a unique vacation/beach house (Casa dos Palmas) in Punta de Mita about 25 miles north of Puerto Vallarta. Now, known as the exclusive community of Litibu.

So the journey of CASA DOS PALMAS begins........

As construction began, based on the lot layout, it was clear that Max was going to have to take a page out of his mentor and architectural idol Frank Lloyd WrIght.

Casa Dos Palmas, with its’ ‘floating balconies’ design, is very reminiscent of Mr. Wright’s most famous building – “FallingWater Building”.

NOTE: America’s most famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, designed “Fallingwater” for his clients, the Kaufmann family.  It instantly became famous, and today it is a National Historic Landmark. The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy is entrusted to preserve “Fallingwater” for generations to come. http://www.fallingwater.org/
